Realizing your dreams

The Fashion Design Course is dedicated to shaping a new generation of designers who are willing to challenge themselves and think independently.

In their first year, students are encouraged to explore “challenge, experimentation, and even failure” as essential components of the creative process in the core subject Basic Research and Creation. We regard failure not as a setback, but as a valuable experience that leads to future success. Through this approach, students develop their work with a spirit grounded in the “now,” uninfluenced by trends, and create more than eight complete looks as part of their foundational studies.

By the end of the year, students take time to reflect on their future direction by asking themselves:.
Who am I as a designer?.
What should I pursue?.
Where do my goals lie?.
What defines beauty that transcends time?.
What dreams am I still striving for?.
These questions guide them toward establishing a clearer personal philosophy and sense of purpose.

With this emerging foundation, students move into their second year, where they engage in Advanced Research and Creation. Here, they refine their individuality and originality while also learning how their creative identity can connect to real opportunities within the fashion industry. Their culminating work as graduate-level designers is presented in the Visual Book, one of the platforms through which they share their ideas, development, and achievements.

It is my hope that the confidence and pride cultivated through this journey will empower our students to build an unwavering sense of their own “personal brand” and take further steps toward realizing their dreams.
BFGU will continue to support their growth with dedication and commitment.

Shaped by the Unfinished

During our two years at BFGU, we developed technical skills while also learning what real commitment to the making process looks like and how to explore our own creative direction. This magazine brings together the ideas and challenges that took shape across those years.

Each collection grew from its own search for direction — finding answers, making choices, and working toward a goal. The journey behind those decisions is distilled into the single images presented in this magazine.

We would like to thank the faculty, staff, friends, and families whose support and care have meant so much to us. We truly appreciate everything you’ve done throughout this journey.

We hope this magazine shares the voices that the 19th cohort has cultivated over the past two years, and that their next steps lead to even richer forms of expression.

With gratitude and warm wishes — well done, everyone. We made it together.
